From there Dr. Reuter worked in small animal practices in Michigan and Connecticut before returning to California.

    I love helping owners keep their pets happy and healthy, and, of course, playing with furry and feathered friends. D’Lilah is my sweet and playful pitbull mix, who enjoys snuggling and games of tug-o-war. In my spare time I enjoy boating in Mission Bay, playing soccer with friends and snowboarding. Since graduating from UC San Diego last spring I have been looking forward to continuing my education and possibly going on to vet school.

    Client Service Representative and Animal Care Attendant

    Johanna graduated from The San Diego Humane Society Law Enforcement Academy in 2014 and is certified in behavioral training for dogs. She has been in the animal field since 2011 and is passionate about animals and educating clients. Johanna is happy to be a part of the TPAH team and considers it to be her second home. Johanna has an awesome pup named “Charlie” who is a 3 year old Ridgeback/Boxer mix and is her world. Charlie is her co-pilot in life and adventure buddy who is completely attached to her. In her spare time, you will see Johanna out in the ocean snorkeling and jet skiing or being active on hikes, rock climbing adventures and practicing yoga. Johanna has an obsession with the Disney Pixar movie “UP” and enjoys spending time with her family and going to open mic nights to listen and play music.

    Nicholas is extremely excited to be a part of this amazing team. After working at a feline specialty practice for almost 5 years, he decided to move upward and onward to an amazing mixed practice to utilize all his skills. When he is not at work, he can be seen with Miss Samantha Newark, the iconic voice of Jem from Jem and the Holograms. He has 3 cute cats named Zander, Rumble and Frenzy.

    A Registered Veterinary Technician since 1982, Shell is the “Mom” of all things that meow, purr and go bump in the night. Even though she is the resident “cat person” she does really like dogs. She has been a member of the Torrey Pines family since 2014. She enjoys sleeping, reading, sewing and knitting/crochet.

    Julia is a Registered Veterinary Technician who has moved down to San Diego from Portland Oregon. She is a lover of the rain and green trees but felt she needed to be closer to her family. Up in Oregon she received a BA in Graphic Design but after finishing school she realized that her passions lied in animal care. She attended a 2 year Veterinary Technology Program, graduated with an Associate of Applied Science degree and passed the Veterinary National Board exam. She currently has her license in the State of California. She worked in various facets of veterinary medicine as a registered technician; from Emergency and Critical Care to General Practice. She loves to develop relationships with our clients and pets to provide them with the best veterinary care possible. She and her partner, Katy live in Temecula at the moment. Yes she commutes every day but she says, “This hospital is worth it”. They share their lives with their sweet and lovable Shih-Tzu, Koji-San. They love to take him to the beach where he avoids the water at all costs. He is a finicky little guy. She looks forward to meeting you and your pet.

    Veterinary Assistant II

    Kate has been a Veterinary Assistant II for 13 years. She loves her job and all it entails. She feels it is different every day and never gets boring. You will often find her sitting and loving a patient during her lunch time or holding them after a procedure for comfort. She loves to play beach volleyball, go for walks, and watch football and UFC. She lives at home with her 3 cats, French Bulldog mix, Diesel, two daughters and husband Rob.

    Veterinary Assistant II

    Since she was a kid, it has always been Madison’s dream to one day work with animals. She found her first job within the field in 2008, when she was hired as a Kennel Assistant by a large Southern California veterinary corporation. As her training and skills increased, the company promoted her to Pet Nurse, and then to Surgical Nurse. After transferring to their Las Vegas veterinary hospital for several years, Madison returned to the San Diego area in 2012 to join a private practice that specialized in exotics and holistic medicine. Her experience there included working with animals such as Kevin the peacock, Flash the 100 lb. tortoise, and Lady Gaga the bunny. As the newest member of Torrey Pines Animal Hospital team, Madison currently lives in Escondido with her dog Frankie, and her cat Elliott. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, photography and ice hockey.

    Veterinary Assistant I

    Shiny is a Veterinary Assistant, and will graduate from USD in June 2016 and planning to study veterinary medicine after graduation. Being from India and seeing the struggles of stray animals inspired Shiny to follow this path. Working with animals, helping them to stay healthy, and learning from the resilience they portray, has become a part of her everyday life. Rehabilitation and working with special needs dogs, is a field that Shiny has an affinity for. She has been working with animals since 2013. Learning from the excellent doctors and staff at Torrey Pines Animal Hospital has fueled her passion, making each day more exciting. She is a proud pet parent of two beautiful rescue dogs, Rookie and Shonna. Shiny loves going hiking, getting some sun at the beach, and reading and writing as much as possible.

    Veterinary Assistant I

    Amanda is originally from Portland, OR, and moved to San Diego in 2005. Since moving here, she completed her B.S. in Psychology with an emphasis in Neuroscience and Behavior from UCSD. Amanda has a passion for caring for animals and educating clients about the best possible care for their furry children. Furthermore, Amanda loves talking about best practices for training dogs and shaping behavior. She lives with her husband, Syrus; son, Arastoo; and three dogs, Maggie, Kuma, and Misto. Amanda and her husband enjoy hiking, eating out, and spending time with their family.

  • Jessie Edmunds
    Animal Care Attendant

    Jessi is a young, positive person that has too much fun with animals. She loves exotics, and has had a wide range of animals from Burmese pythons to tarantulas as well as a cat and dog. Jessi works as a veterinary assistant, mainly behind the scenes to help out wherever a hand is needed. On her off days, she works at doggie daycare and at a modeling agency, and enjoys going on nature walks and having a day at the beach. She hopes to pursue a career in the veterinary field, and to one day own a house in Rancho Santa Fe along with many other animals.”

    Animal Care Attendant

    Dionne will graduate from Canyon Crest Academy in 2016. She hopes to be a veterinarian and is beyond grateful to have this opportunity to work at Torrey Pines Animal Hospital. In her free time, she also volunteers at various organizations that benefit rescue animals. Dionne spends time with her little puppy, Cadbury. She and Cadbury love spending time playing, walking, and cuddling. He never fails to put a smile on her face!
